What are some baseball leagues a 21 year old or older can play in that get attention?

July 15, 2010 - 7:23 pm 3 Comments

Anyone know of any leagues in the New York area that gets scouts attention?

Look for a semi-pro team. Use that as a stepping stone. Otherwise try to make it to a try-out for minor league team. And by minor-league I’m talking with a team that plays in an independent league.

Or, I’m assuming you have college eligibilty left so you could always contact a JUCO coach about attempting to walk-on to a team.

Any way you choose the road is not going to be easy for you. Good Luck.

Why are the projected points for one player different in different yahoo leagues for the same week?

July 12, 2010 - 7:00 pm 2 Comments

I’m in two Yahoo Fantasy Football leagues, I have Derek Anderson in both leagues. Why is he projected to get 22 points in week one in one league and only 13 points in week one in my second league?

Maybe the settings are different in each league?

What happens when an all-star changes leagues before the all-star game?

July 9, 2010 - 11:03 am 6 Comments

What happens when an MLB player, voted onto an all-star team, changes leagues before the game? Is his new league given a special roster spot for him, or is he no longer allowed to compete in the game?
That’s really crazy, why not sabotage the game if you’ve switched leagues?

Also, to quicksand60: In my experience, people don’t mind answering the same question twice. It gives them 2 extra points. Take your Ritalin.

While still a Royal, Carlos Beltrán had been selected to the American League starting outfield for the 2004 All-Star Game. After the trade to the National League, he was initially denied a place in the game. However, after NL starter Ken Griffey, Jr. went on the disabled list, Beltrán was named his substitute. Beltrán became the first player ever to be selected for one All-Star team but play for the other.

But I know previously, before the home field crap, that the player would have played for the league he was voted. Because it was just a simple exhibition.

Do you know of any softball leagues during the summer in Chicago?

July 3, 2010 - 9:12 pm 2 Comments

I live in Chicago and I really want to join a Women’s 12 inch (Fast Pitch) Softball League. I don’t know what parks/schools/organizations/ect. have these leagues. I heard there is one at Hoyne Park, but im not sure I would like to play there and I dont think it exists anymore. Please let me know!

The three organizations below all have a variety of sports leagues. You can sign up as an individual or a team.
